Tom Cruise Transcript from Oprah Show
The interview between Oprah Winfrey Show with Tom Cruise is up at the Oprah Site now. For those that wanted to click over and read. But I’ll also give you a brief overview of it.
First off, they are in Tom’s home now and I must say it looks really comfy and cozy, even Oprah is on his couch with her shoes off and feet in the seat. O prah immediately lets Tom know that she was a bit nervous showing up, I mean it has been three years since this happened and once it did everyone started slamming him, he even lost his status at Paramount.
“I was a little nervous coming up this morning, I have to admit, because you and I have not sat down for a real conversation since the sofa incident.” - Oprah
The two will have a calm discussion over what happened that day and why he took it to such extremes of jumping up and down. Tom really has no reasoning just that it was what he felt in that moment. I know many wondered if he’d been high or something mentally wrong back then.
It becomes clear that the three events took on a whole, “Crazy Tom Cruise” movement. From him on Oprah hoping around, criticizing Brooke Shields and then the whole Matt Lauer incident Tom just couldn’t cut a break. For Tom he is upset that the society is drugging kids these days and while I’m for medication I admit many doctors just label children, some don’t need it. I really think that is where Tom is going on it, not sure though.
He admits to “shooting the messenger” when it came to Matt, not really meaning what he said. The words just didn’t come out right. While he doesn’t regret what he says he does regret the wording.
On religion, Tom admits to believing in God, “There is no way you can be up here and feel that there isn’t a God.” Tom speaking of Rocky Mountains.
It seems that he actually gets really personal about everything in his life since the Oprah incident. Tom talks about how the paparazzi has changed since Risky Business to the point where they couldn’t even go to a doctor for Katie’s Pregnancy test. Instead they snuck out in the middle of the night to find out. He says the hardest has been Katie having to hear the rumors about their daughter. Also in the interview will be a tour of the couples home.
