Tom Cruise Almost in Edward Scissorhands

According to SF Gate Johnny Depp has come forward and stated that he wasn’t the movies first choice for Edward Scissorhands. I know rihgt? Wasn’t he just a shoe in for that movie, it fit him like a glove. Umm, guess that should be a pair of scissors.

When Johnny auditioned for the part they told him they were actually interested in another actor, he was crushed as he felt the part calling to him and he knew it was his. A few days later his agent called to say he got the part. No news on why Tom Cruise wasn’t picked in the end, or if he was why he decided not to do it.

Can you picture what Edward Scissorhands would’ve been with Tom Cruise instead? I can’t either, I’m afraid Johnny wouldn’t be as popular either. Strange how movies have made the stars. With the right one you can become famous, the wrong one and you could fail.
