Maggie Gyllenhaal Had Katie’s Approval for Batman
In the newest movie of Batman’s “The Dark Knight,” there was a lot of feelings to deal with for Maggie Gyllenhaal. In fact she refused to take the part until she was assured Katie Holmes would be okay with her taking over. Wow, this isn’t something you hear a Hollywood actress say about another. Here I always thought they were in competition with one another.
But Maggie told tabloids:
“Before I decided to do the movie, I wanted to make sure that I had her blessing. I didn’t want to do it if it wasn’t OK with her, and I was assured that it was.”
I think that’s really sweet of her, I knew she was a great mother, but had no clue about her as a person. As you can see she really does care and is a down to earth person worrying about how others feel.
Maggie Gyllenhaal took Katie Holmes’ place as Rachel Dawes in Batman. Three years ago Batman Begins got a lot of attention, not only because it was Katie Holmes but at the time Tom Cruise made a huge presence. Granted “The Dark Knight” had a ton of actors/actresses that drew in the media, it seems they didn’t get the huge turn out they thought they would’ve. She even got to do her own stunts. Not sure if Katie did, does anyone know?
