Katie Holmes on the Letterman Show
The cameras were all over Katie Holmes as she exited her black SUV wearing a long red jacket and her usual sunglasses. Katie Holmes is currently running the tv circuits in preparation for her new movie, Mad Money. Letterman quickly greets her and they talk about her first being on the show when she was on “Gordon’s Creek.” Katie quickly corrects him laughing, “Dawson’s Creek.” After that she has to correct him because he states they were in North and South Carolina, but it was North.
Katie says that starring in Dawson’s Creek was great, it was fun and she was making her own money. She loved the cast and crew and everyone was like family. Everyone is now making movie and having babies. Letterman reminds everyone that Suri will be turning 2 very soon.
It is beautiful and you become part of that club. Life becomes magical. Letterman asks if she ever tries waking Suri during naps to play with her. Katie responds with a quick yes, she goes in and kisses her and quietly talks with her. When asked when Suri goes to sleep and wakes up Katie becomes a hero. Suri goes to bed late, 11 p.m. as that’s when they go down but she also wakes at 9 a.m. I have no clue what I’d do if mine woke that late. Mine are like Letterman’s and wake when the sun rises.
Christmas happened to be in Colorado this year where everyone snowboarded and such. They begin talking about the New York City Marathon and Katie explains that one day she’d like to run the Boston Marathon. She explained that at mile 18 she wanted to quit, but Suri and Tom convinced her to finish. Further down the track she heard two guys talking about how far, she heard it was only 20 miles and they had 6 more to go and felt like stopping.
Letterman than asks how she feels about Suri entering the movie business, “Oh I’m excited, she’s very smart and already talking.” Letterman doesn’t sound so sure and even tries (sounded to me) persuading her not to have Suri do it.
Katie Holmes talks about MadMoney, “it’s kind of a buddy movie. It’s fun, it’s kind of a silly movie.” Letterman asks her if she ever saw Annie Hall and she responds with a “yes about 30 times.” The end the show with a clip of Mad Money. The show will hit theaters this Friday.
